Day 3 at AAAs Another exciting day at AAAs. There were so many best times and exciting swims that I will only mention a few of the highlights. Our Para swimmers, Andrew Cooke and Avery Newton, have been swimming up a storm. AAAs is a great meet for them to prepare for their CanAm (Canada and Americas) meet in early April, in Minnesota. CanAms is one of the few stand alone Para meets and it runs a full program of Para events, including heats and finals . . . Just...

She also anchored the girls relay with another new AAA time in the 100 Free (unofficial). Acacia finished the day off with a dinner with four of Canada's Olympians. They had a great...

Mini Squad Swimmers of the Month: Alexis-Jane Seddon and Devin Carly: Coach Linnea has chosen Alexis-Jane this month due to her always being on time, always being ready to work hard no matter what, and always having her swim cap on. She is a fantastic listener - even when we have a group full of boys with a ton of energy, she doesn't let them affect her. Devin has been chosen because he is always ready to work hard and always has a smile on his face! He is a...

We had four swimmers who went their first A times – Mckenna Clarke, Nikita Logie, Riley Thompson and Jaxon Stel – all in the 200 Breaststroke. We also had some other swimmers who went new time standards in their events – Acacia Benn AA in 200 IM, 400 Free, 200 Free and 400 IM. Daniel Everton – AA in 200 IM, 400...

The Academy swimmers have had their Distance week, Nov. 19 - 24. They have swam a total of 10 workouts (every morning, 6 - 7:30am and every afternoon) and more than 50km. Their top distance was 8km in Wednesday afternoon's 20 x 400 workout. Although they are tired, they have never whined and have always been keen to swim whatever the workout says. They have been willing to push themselves beyond their comfort zone. On Day 4, Workout #8, Jaxon (who just started swimming this season) swam an A time...

Great job KISU at the Vernon Meet. The meet started out on teh Friday night with 50 Back and Breast . . . and then the 800. We had some great first time swims in the 800 by Elijah Kliever, Mackenzie Wallich and Clara Schirrmeister. The most improved 800 goes to Nikita Logie who took off 102seconds! Saturday finals were very exciting. Ashley McMillan had a great 100 Fly in the morning with a 1:46, which put her in third place going into the evening finals. Ashley is quite the...
