2025-2026 REGISTRATION INFORMATION & INSTRUCTIONS

We are pleased and excited to welcome back previous members as well as new members to Kisu Swim Club for another exciting year of swimming, fun, and friendship.

Two important dates for registration:

• Registration opens for returning families: August 1, 2025
• Registration opens for new members: August 5, 2025

The Penticton Community Centre Pool is closed for much of September, so while Academy will start with some training outside of the Penticton pool in September...the start of regular training will be as follows:

• Academy: September 8, 2025
• Juniors, Intermediates, Age Group: Friday, September 26
• Mini-Squad (all groups): The week of September 29

Please ensure that you are as thorough as possible when completing the registration information! Although some fields are "optional", as much information as you can provide is appreciated!

You will need to know the Roster Group (Training Group) that you are registering for.

The Roster Groups for the competitive training groups (Juniors, SuperJuniors, Intermediates, Age Group, Academy) developed by the coaching staff for the coming season are available here.

If you are new to the Kisu, Roster Group descriptions are found under the Training Groups tab, and the Training Schedule (practice times) can be found here.

For Mini Squad (our learn-to-swim program), you will be choosing a Group (White, Blue, or Gold), and training days (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday - plus Fridays and some Saturday for Blue and Gold) and group time.

***NOTE: While Mini-squad WHITE will stay at two sessions per week (Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs), Blue will add Fridays and an additional Saturday each month, and Gold will add Fridays and every Saturday.***

If the group you select is full, please select another time; group size limits are set to allow for the highest quality of coaching for your swimmer.

SWIM BC Registration Categories:

Swim BC has simplified their registration categories, with there now being only two tiers:

• PRE-COMPETITIVE: $52
  • For swimmers who have not yet gone faster than 4:00 for 200IM (aka "sub-4")
  • These swimmers can participate in Jamboree, Muffin Meets and other non-sanctioned meets
  • All swimmers being registered in Mini-squad or Juniors/Super-Juniors charged this fee. You will not need to select it again during the registration process. If your child will be competing in sanctioned swim meets, this fee will be upgraded to "Competitive" as described below
• COMPETITIVE: $164.50
  • Basically everyone else: All swimmers who are faster than 4:00 for their 200IM and wish to attend sanctioned swim meets and competitions
  • Registrants in Academy, Age Group, and Intermediate will have this option pre-selected.
  • ​It is possible to "upgrade" during the season, which will incur only the price difference between the two fees ($112.50)
     

Fundraising Commitment

In an effort to keep fee increases minimal, starting with the 2022-2023 season, the board approved the decision to implement a mandatory fundraising commitment for all swimmers (Masters excluded).

Financial Assistance Programs

Two organizations have been utilitized by Kisu families in the recent past to provide financial assistance in registering with the club.

• Kidsport Penticton
• Canadian Tire Jumpstart

Please note that these organizations are NOT directly affiliated with Kisu, so applications must go through the links above; as mentioned previously, however, both have proven to be supportive of Kisu members in the past.
 

Payment Schedule:

Your swim fees may be paid in one annual lump sum, in two installments, or in monthly installments.

IMPORTANT: The monthly installment payment schedule requires the FIRST AND LAST installment to be paid at the time of registration.
You will see that the amount charged at registration is double the monthly installment.
 

Multi-Swimmer Family Discount:

KISU is pleased to offer a discount on swimming fees for families registering 3 or more swimmers under the age of 18. Your third and subsequent swimmers will have their monthly fees reduced by 30%. The discount for the fees paid at registration will appear as a credit on your account in September), and subsequent monthly installments will be billed at the reduced rate.
 

Team Gear:

All swimmers will be ordering a club t-shirt, swimsuit and cap at the time of registration, so please remember to in indicate your child's size when you complete the registration information. You will be able to order additional caps, suits or goggles etc from the club by emailing Jaren and/or Naomi at [email protected] to let us know what size you would like!

Team Suits: Kisu is proud to be supported by, and partnered with, Arena to provide outfitting of team swimsuits. 

******All members, including returning swimmers, will be charged $88 for the team swimsuit and cap; registrations for boys will receive a $10 account credit.***
