KISU Greyback Megaswim Update - WE DID IT!
Good Morning KISU,
Just hitting your inboxes this morning to pass along the news that we achieved and surpassed our goal of $35000! This is a huge accomplishment and something we should all be proud of... for a few reasons:
- We had 440 individual donors. Compared to our previous fundraisers, our second most individual donor count was 330. A huge increase!
- We had 4 swimmers reach well over $1000 individually. Andi Church topped the leaderboard with $1840. Zac Riep was second with $1401. Caleb Riep was third with $1251. Rounding out the top 4 was Anika Crawford with $1225.
- We had immense support from our sponsors which allowed us to offer such great prizes. We were able to offer over $5000 worth of prizes.
I want to say a huge thank you to my fellow staff Coach Naomi and Coach Tina. Coach Tina was the one who thought big and set the ambitious goal of $35000. She got the ball rolling early in October with our initial brainstorm and was always open to bounce ideas around. Coach Naomi helped me organized many of the sponsor donations as well as created MANY custom posters that swimmers could use for their fundraising. This was all done by hand in Canva and was a great idea.
I also want to thank Amy Kinnear and Shannon MacIntosh who helped tabulate the overall standing, did all the math to create all the tickets that were entered in the raffle, and count all the physical donations.
Finally, I'd like to thank all the parents who helped with the Awards Breakfast. Katrin Scott and her team (Melissa Hagel, Kerstin Eichele, Nikoletta Tormas, Hillary Ward... I hope I didn't miss anyone...) did a great job feeding the swimmers and all the food donations were all very much appreciated.
This money enables the club to continue to offer exceptional programming and coaching to your swimmers. Just because we are a small town and a small club, it does not mean we have to settle for less. Every donation earned will positively impact every swimmer now and every future swimmer as well. Every donation will help us continue the legacy of punching above our weight.
Thank you!
Coach Jaren
